Frankly, I worry that it may be the latter, as it seems that experiencing such a shadow state comes with its share of aftereffects, the nature of which I am still researching.

I’m glad to hear you say as much, when I think there are those who have been here longer that would advise otherwise. It’s my intent to investigate the enchantments powering the manor, but I’ve made little headway as yet.
